Jordan Session is one of many high profile additions to the Cheshire Phoenix roster this offseason, as the franchise look to build on last year’s Cup success and mount a serious challenge to the elite of British basketball.
The Georgia State graduate has only been in the country for just over a week, but Session is already finding his feet.
“My first week was definitely interesting,” began Session.
“I’ve only been here a week so far and I’m still getting used to a lot of things that are different here than in the US.
“I’m excited to see and learn more about the country as my time here goes on. Hopefully my experience continues to get better and better with time.”
Having concluded his college career with Georgia State earlier in the year, winning a second conference tournament in the process, Session put pen to paper on his first professional contract – signing on the dotted line with Cheshire.
“Hearing so much about the [UK] really sparked my interest in wanting to visit the country,” admitted the versatile forward.
“It was an easy decision for me to pick a country like the UK, over many other countries, because of the language, culture and my perceptions of what I imagined the country was like.
“The fact everyone speaks English also played a huge role in my choice, along with knowing a couple of other guys in the league that have already made the journey from the US to the UK.
“I’m excited to get started and have the chance to constantly improve every week.
“I’m only 22-years-old and it will be my rookie season, so I know I have a long way to go to figure out my game at the pro level, but fans can expect a versatile player with a lot of passion that always gives his best.”
