Having spent the summer representing Great Britain at the U18 and U20 level, Loren Christie returns to BA London Lions for the 2018-19 WBBL season confident the side can make significant strides.
“Last season was a tough one for us,” admitted Christie.
“We were a young and inexperienced team and we struggled with leadership.
“Our determination and hustle kept us in games but unfortunately on a lot of occasions we fell short.
“I think the addition of the new senior players and the experience they bring will help us win more games this season.
“Personally, I felt my performances lacked confidence in the things I knew were my strengths.
“Towards the end of the season, however, I learned to work with my team mates more and take more self-accountability. This, in turn, helped my game progress.
“I’m very excited for the new campaign after playing a role in both the U18 and U20 European Championships during the offseason.
“The experience has increased my confidence and I can’t wait to get back on the court.
“During the offseason, I’ve worked on choosing my moments to attack and being aggressive using my strengths.
“A lot of what I’m working on will help transition me into a versatile player, someone who can work from the perimeter as well as inside.
“Hopefully I’ll get to develop that more during the season whilst playing against some of the league’s most versatile players.”
