Having been forced to spend last season’s campaign cheering from the sidelines due to serious injury, Naomi Campbell is keen to get back on court and add her experience to a Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters side looking to collect some silverware.
“After spending a whole season on the sideline, for the first time in 15 seasons, I have definitely found a new appreciation for the game I love,” began Campbell.
“I’ve had to find new ways to channel my competitive side but I know that nothing will compare to being back on the court.
“I am super excited to play with old and new teammates and I know the entire team will support me in what will no doubt be a difficult transition period, getting back into the swing of things.
“Having had all year to work on technical aspects of the game and my shooting in particular, my focus in the run up to pre season has been centred on building dynamic strength, getting some speed back and ultimately gaining trust back in my knee.
“It’s all about reaching a point whereby my physical and mental readiness is in sync.
“This season I am hoping to offer a safe pair of hands and bring some experience back to the team – offering some consistently reliable performances at both ends of the floor.”
