Having spent the last week in Australia acclimatising, Team England’s Women are prepared and ready for their Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games opener on Friday.
“We’ve settled in pretty well,” began Team Northumbria’s Hannah Shaw.
“Obviously the heat and the jet lag took a little time to get used to, but the support we’ve had over here has been incredible.
“We are getting looked after by the Team England staff – they’ve done exceptionally well to sort out the logistical side of things. It has allowed us to focus solely on getting ourselves ready to take to the court.
“I’m really looking forward to getting the Games started.
“Although we will face some tough opposition, our expectations are high.
“I’m confident in our ability to put a string of solid performances together.
“If we can do that, the results will take care of themselves.”
