Scotland continued their incredible run at the 2018 Commonwealth Games by securing a Semi-Final place with a 66-61 victory over Nigeria.
Gareth Murray led the way for Scotland with 17 points, while Mike Vigor, Ali Fraser and Jonny Bunyan all hit double-figures.
“We knew Nigeria would be a difficult opponent,” began Bunyan.
“They are an extremely athletic team, with more structure than Cameroon.
“But our preparations heading into the game were extremely detailed and we centred our defence on keeping the ball out of Ike Diogu’s hands.
“We executed in the first half about as well as we could’ve expected, it was probably our best half of the Games to date.
“Although we dried up offensively in the third, we managed to dig deep and make a lot of big plays in the fourth – that definitely helped our defence start clicking again.
“It was pleasing to see how well we controlled the tempo for most of the game.
“Looking forward, it’s crazy to think we will be playing Australia on Saturday.
“Everyone knows they are superior in a lot of areas but we have to make sure desire and effort isn’t one of them.
“It’s a big accomplishment for us to get to this stage and we plan on making the most of it.
“We love being underdogs and we know that’s what we’ll be heading into the semi-finals.
“We’ll give it everything we’ve got.”
Scotland will next face Team Australia for a place in the Final.
