This Sunday night, NBA All-Star 2018 will bring together some of the most talented players in the league’s history for a global celebration of the game in Los Angeles. Below is a list of interesting figures pertaining to NBA All-Star 2018.
3 – Staples Center will host NBA All-Star for the third time (2004 and 2011).
55 – This year is the 55th anniversary of the first NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles, in 1963, when Bill Russell recorded 19 points and 24 rebounds to lead the East past the West 115-108.
1983 – Moments before the 1983 All-Star Game tipped off at The Forum, legendary R&B singer Marvin Gaye performed an iconic, soul-influenced version of The Star-Spangled Banner.
515 – NBA All-Star 2018 will host 515 international media members from 44 countries and territories.
314 – LeBron James is the leading scorer in All-Star Game history with 314
500,000 – Team LeBron (playing for After-School All-Stars Los Angeles) and Team Stephen (Brotherhood Crusade) will combine to donate $500,000 to community-based organizations, with the winning team’s organization receiving $350,000 and the losing team’s receiving $150,000.
5 – Stephen Curry will be the first player in Warriors history to start five straight All-Star Games.
20 – The San Antonio Spurs, represented by LaMarcus Aldridge, have had at least one player selected to 20 consecutive All-Star Games, the NBA’s longest active streak.

1984 – Verizon Slam Dunk participant Larry Nance Jr.’s father, former NBA All-Star Larry Nance, won the league’s inaugural dunk contest, at NBA All-Star 1984.
