Köppl confident ahead of potentially title defining weekend

In October, Sevenoaks Suns handed Leicester Riders a first defeat of the season. Fast-forward four months and neither side have lost a Championship game since.

League leaders Sevenoaks (13-0) welcome second placed Leicester (14-1) to Sevenoaks School Sports Centre for what could be a title defining contest.

“Everyone is looking forward to the game at the weekend,” began Suns forward Julia Köppl.

“The mood of the team is really good.

“We have worked hard this week in practice to prepare for the game.

“Even though we had some problems during the game against Caledonia Pride last weekend, I think the fact that we came away with victory despite having a bad day is a really positive thing.

“It shows that if we stick together as a team and play good defence then we’re able to find our way offensively.

“The key to our game against the Riders will also come down to our defence.

“The Riders are strong in transition so we’ll need to be on our guard.

“So long as we play smart offensively, take good shots and work for one another defensively, I think we should be able to add to our undefeated record.”
