Hayward credits competitive culture for Riders’ success

Leicester Riders enter the weekend having only lost one Championship contest out of the twelve the team have played.

Sitting just two points behind Sevenoaks Suns in the standings, the team has its sights set firmly on the table’s summit.

For Scottish international Dee Hayward the target is clear, “as a team I feel like we are all motivated towards the same goal, we all want to win.”

“This means that every time we go on court it’s competitive, whether it’s a practice or game.

“We definitely push each other to bring out the best in ourselves.

“Watching the Cup Final from afar has definitely motivated the team to see where we could have been and where we definitely want to be in the future.

“Obviously it was a disappointing result to lose in the semi final, but congrats to Nottingham – they played a good game and deserved the win.

“If we stay together as a unit, make sure we lock down key players and continue to play for each other then we’ll have a great chance of getting a positive result this weekend.”
