Dover out to avenge past Cup disappointments

Having met in the Championship just last weekend, Boroughmuir Blaze will once again face rivals City of Edinburgh Kings in this weekend’s Scottish Cup Final.

Blaze will be hoping for improved fortunes in the Cup having suffered a blowout home loss at the hands of Kings last time out.

Scottish international Eoghann Dover is keen to avenge the defeat but also put to bed the disappointment of last year’s Cup Final loss.

“It would mean a lot to win the Scottish Cup given last year’s failure and the length of time since we last lifted it,” explained Dover.

“It would be great to bring the Cup back to Boroughmuir.

“Winning the final would give us massive belief going into the playoffs, knowing we can do some damage against anyone.

“The teams know each other well. We will have to push the tempo and be aggressive defensively. We can’t just sit back and let Kings dictate the speed of the game.”
