Rashad Hassan has taken the honour of being handed the first Molten BBL Player of the Month award of the new 2016-17 season.
The forward has landed the prestigious accolade for his exploits with the high-flying London Lions, who have enjoyed an entertaining and highly fruitful opening to the campaign after racking up six wins from seven games.
Hassan has been central to the early success of Lions, having recorded some majestic performances – all of which contributed to him being head and shoulders above anyone else when it came to his performance efficiency valuation. He was the only player in the league to pass the milestone of 20 after recording an impressive 21.1.
In a blistering opening few weeks, the forward has got better and better since the big tip-off back in late September and has been central to Lions establishing themselves as one of the early pacesetters in the BBL Championship title race.
Hassan has averaged 21.4 points per game and that makes him the second highest scorer in the BBL at present. Most impressively, he has poured in those points via a brilliant 66% from the floor – as well as hauling down 7.7 rebounds per game.
The closest challenger to Hassan for the gong was his former team-mate in the shape of Leicester Riders’ guard Tyler Bernardini, who also enjoyed an excellent start to the season.
