England U16 Women finish 10th at European Championship

England U16 Women finished 10th at the 2016 European Championship, Division B.

It proved to be the perfect start for England who won their first 3 group games against Bulgaria (83-45), Bosnia and Herzegovina (66-56) and Scotland (75-46) before losses to Finland (52-63) and Ireland (46-52) saw the team narrowly miss out on a top 8 spot.

Wins against MKD (64-56) and Estonia (70-62) gave England the opportunity to play Belgium for 9th place. It was Belgium, however, that would take the spot (34-76) moving England in to 10th position.

Holly Winterburn led the team in scoring with 13.4 points per game, ahead of Hannah Jump at 10.5 PPG.
