England U16 Men finish 5th at European Championship

England U16 Men finished 5th at this year’s European Championship, Division B.

A solid start saw England win their opening group games, defeating Ireland (65-50) and Hungary (66-61), before falling to Israel (80-87). Wins over Scotland (61-36) and MKD (69-38) secured a quarter final berth.

Heartbreak against Russia (61-62) meant England just missed out on the semi finals by the narrowest of margins and had to settle for a place in the 5th place classification grouping.

Back to back victories against Czech Republic (64-63) and Belarus (72-53) ensured England finished in 5th.

Jacob Round led the team in points (14.4) and Richard Amaefule led the team in rebounds (8.2).
