The penultimate weekend of the WBBL Championship season started with big wins for Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters and Cardiff Met Archers.
The league’s leading scorer, Helen Naylor, and Stephanie Gandy each scored 20 points as Hatters guaranteed a top three finish by beating fourth-placed Barking Abbey Crusaders 86-50. It was a record win against that opposition for the league’s highest scoring team.
Elsewhere, in another high-scoring game, Judit Fritz netted 28 points as Archers recorded their second-highest points tally of the season to beat Brixton Topcats 82-74 for a first win in six games.
