Great Britain Senior Women’s star Jo Leedham made history on Wednesday night after she became the first British player to win the prestigious EuroCup Women’s title.
She was at the centre of the action for Tango Bourges Basket as the French powerhouse built on an 11 point advantage from the first leg with a 54-53 success against 2015 winners Villeneuve d’Ascq.
Leedham finished the game with 14 points and 12 rebounds to follow up on the double-double which she harvested in the first encounter.
Playing in front of a sold-out crowd of 5,000, ‘Le Prado’ erupted as the three-time EuroLeague Women champions delivered their first European trophy for 15 years.
