Following on from its success at the 2015 BBL Play-Off Final, Hoops Aid is returning again this year to add yet more razzmatazz to an already spectacular day of basketball action.
It promises to be another memorable day for British basketball when a huge crowd prepares to once again descend on The O2 for what is going to be the first ever BBL and WBBL Play-Off Finals double-bill.
Building on last year’s record breaking near-15,000 crowd for the BBL Play-Off Final, the 2016 edition will also see the cream of the women’s game in the UK light it up in the capital.
Hoops Aid 2016 is scheduled to take place during half-time of the BBL Play-Off Final and will see a star-studded line up of celebrities, sports personalities, actors, and many more.
Confirmed so far to appear are football personality Adebayo Akinfenwa, current MK Dons striker Jay Emmanuel Thomas, Dan Osbourne of TOWIE, BBC Breakfast presenter Mike Bushell, Paralympic Gold Medalist Richard Whitehead MBE, ex Premiership referee Uriah Rennie, and actor Colin Salmon of the James Bond films.
All these and many more will be coming together to raise money for Sports Traider, a charity arm in aid of creating sporting opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged children.
There will also be Britain’s Got Talent favourites and BBL Finals regulars Flawless to entertain supporters.
As usual, they will entertain everyone in the house with their high-octane, urban dance moves, alongside our very own dunking mascot Leroy The Lion and our very own BBL Cheerleaders.
