GB push Germany in Final, take home Osaka Cup silver

Looking to avenge the previous day’s loss to Germany in the pool rounds, the GB Women faced their European rivals once more in the Final – pushing them right to the end; nevertheless, it the Germany Women earning gold by 55-44.

Germany edged a tight first 10 minutes, 9-8, and extended their advantage to 27-16 at half time. Great Britain, however, hit back in a stunning third quarter: playing their way back to within just five points of Germany with 10 minutes left to play. Germany were able to find another level of play in the final quarter to secure a 55-44 victory and with it the gold medal.
